Sam Orlando This album reminds me of my childhood in Maine on the quiet rocky coast looking out at the ocean. I was transported back through the fog, boat horns and bells of the marine environment into a swirling landscape of infinite space that left a gaping emptiness in which to build back my memories piece by piece. Thank you for these emotional and meditative tracks. Favorite track: Bug light.

mattoid Alighting amid high temperatures in the UK, this is instantly the soundtrack to the now, and therefore the catalyst to reflect upon this extreme climate period. For me, it conjures the early calm light, a muted dawn chorus, air touched by the sun warmed quickly. Nature retreats from the relentless sun. You can hear the heat, and welcome the touch of air conditioning. The lingering evening light is of a beauty only this album can describe. One descends into the night as if in a diving bell.

Tuned to the bells, buoys, and ocean sounds surrounding a small island off the coast of Maine where I spend most of my time.

Contra alto clarinet, Elektron Digitone, and cassette tape were used to convey the feeling of loneliness and comfort it provides me.

Island Friend is dedicated to my father who passed away at this time last year.
